Is airport tax refundable?

Answer :
In line with industry practice, Airport Tax will only be refunded when contacted by the guest. To request for a refund, the guest should send an email to AirportTaxRefund@airasia.com. You will receive an acknowledgment within 15 working days. All Airport Tax refunds shall be subjected to a Processing Fee specified in our Fee Schedule.
 


The mode of refund will depend on the guest’s original mode of payment when the seat was purchased. The refund can only be given to the person(s) named in the booking and not to a third party, in accordance to the mode of payment for the seat.


Do provide us with the following information when you contact us for your refund.


a) Payment by credit card:
1. The Reservation/ Booking Reference Number


b) Payment by Direct Debit or Cash or Travel Agent:
1. The Reservation/ Booking Reference Number
2. Bank Account Number
3. Bank Name
4. Name of Account Holder (Refund can only be given to the person named as a guest in the booking and not to a third party).

If the passenger did not travel, she/he can claim for airport tax refund after the flight is already over. Please be advised airport tax claim is only available for International flights. For certain flight routes airport tax claim is not available due to airport tax was not charged when the booking was made.
For instance flight departing from Indonesia, all airport tax must be paid upon departure at the check in counter as required by the local Government. There will be a refund processing fee per passenger per way.


For your information, airport tax claim can be requested after the booking had expired (after all flights had departed). To request for your airport tax refund, all you have to do is contact our call centre, provide them with the booking number. Our agents will advice you accordingly.

Ramai yang tak tau yang airport tax ni sebenarnya boleh refund balik kalau kita tak travel ke destinasi tu pun. Kalau ke Indonesia, mungkin airport tax tak banyak mana pun boleh claim. Contoh tiket Mr.K dan gua yang perlu dibayar semasa membuat tempahan ke Jogjakarta tahun lepas cuma berharga RM50. Untuk pulang ke Malaysia dari Indonesia, pelawat perlu membayar secara asing airport tax mengikut kadar di sana. Kalau dari Bali; IDR 150000, Bandung; IDR 75000.

TAPI, kalau ke Thailand..airport tax untuk pulang ke Malaysia memang dah include siap-siap dalam tempahan. Untuk tiket Mr.K dan gua ke Phuket, jumlah airport tax sahaja adalah RM198. Lebih mahal daripada harga tiket. Nanges!

Gua requested untuk dapatkan balik airport tax di kaunter Air Asia semasa di Skypark Terminal 3 pada penghujung Januari. Sementara nak menantikan flight gua ke Penang, gua terus ke kaunter. Prosesnya tak susah, cuma perlu berikan booking number. Seterusnya, gua diberitahu untuk tunggu 30-60 Business days untuk Air Asia refund airport tax ke dalam akaun gua. Dan RM10 akan ditolak daripada setiap booking number untuk setiap penumpang sebagai processing fees.

Tiada report number yang diberikan kepada gua sebagai rujukan oleh CSR yang bertugas.

Sebab dah terlalu lama menunggu, gua cuba dapatkan feedback daripada Live Help. Live Help ni adalah suatu medium untuk pelanggan Air Asia berinteraksi dengan CSR melalui chatting. Memandangkan nak menelepon Customer Careline Air Asia: 600-85-9999 sangat hazab, memang ini jelah medium yang terbaik.

Kena banyak bersabar sebab queue memang panjang berderet sebelum sampai ke giliran sendiri. Dah elok tiba giliran, dah tanya basic questions; nama, login ID, nomor tepon segala..tetiba je CSR Air Asia tu offline. Terpaksa queue balik U__U.

Nasib baik kali kedua tu ok. Cumanya si CSR Air Asia tu banyak cekadak pulak. Gua dah cakap CSR tak kasik pun case number masa gua mintak refund aritu, tapi tetappppppppplah dia nak jugak-jugak case number tu. Celah bedah mana gua nak korek??!!

Since gua tadak case number, dia takleh nak tolong. So dia suruh email jek. Disebabkan kepala pun dah berapi waktu tu, terus gua offline. Gua bukak Twitter, gua komplen kat @AirAsia.

Surprisingly, @AirAsia replied. Dimintaknya gua try kat customer care Twitter team @askairasia.

Boleh pun takde case number pun kannnnnnn??!! Ni pulak bila gua tweet FlyFirefly. Sekurang-kurangnya persoalan gua tu terjawab.

A very good two-way communication, isn’t it? Siapa kata Twitter tu hanya suatu medium untuk hapdet status meroyan doplohpatjam sajo? Nahhh..gunakan sebaiknya, nescaya teknologi itu bukan dicipta dengan sia-sia.

Oh, Facebook bosan. FB tu dah macham tempat gua nak tepek gambar banyak-banyak. Kot ye pun ada yang nak add gua, serbu pakai helmet la, bai. Message box gua tu masih enable lagik, boleh je nak drop message kan? Jangan nak sentap kalau gua antor mesej tanya “Do I know you?”. Tu soklan standard sebab gua tak kenal lu and gua tak approve suka suki.

Memanglah FB tu tempat nak stalking jumpa kawan-kawan lama tapi kalo dah 10 tahun tak jumpa tetiba lu jawab “Your friend”, dengan profile picture yang sumpah gua tak cam langsung, pastu guna nama glamour…agak-agaknya gua kenal lagik ke? Kalaupun you are MY FRIEND..bagitau je lu kawan sekolah/kolej/kerja terus kan ke senang. Ni nak berteka-teki plak. Sumpah malas nak layan!

Gua senang dengan orang macham Raja Dyana. Dia add gua sebab dia baca belog gua. Gua senang dengan orang macham Jason Lee. Dia add gua sebab dia baca entry gua pasal Papparich, tempat gua selalu lepak dengan Mr.K kat Old Klang Road dan dia keje sana. Senang, sebab gua nampak connection tu.

Diva sangat ke? Tak. Cuma gua nak kenal sapa yang ada dalam FB gua.
